Introduction to Qi

Welcome to Spirit of Tai Chi

I am an accredited Tai Chi Wellness instructor (Australia Tai Chi Institute), professional writer, wellness advisor & published author.

The classes are fun, lively and life affirming.  I infuse each session with mindfulness, including simple ways we may encourage our mental wellbeing.

Tai chi and Qigong are superb practices for encouraging an innate sense of wellness both internally and externally. They also promote social activity as we work together in a group setting.

There is no physical fitness level required. We always work to the physical capacity of the individual.

My courses have been specifically designed to be invigorating, stimulating, relaxing and fun.  Each person works within their own physical parameters. There is no fitness level required to participate.

How does it work?

Your energy is your superpower! You've got to flex that muscle consciously in order to grow it.

Whatever you consider creates who you are and what you do. As you learn to tune into your inner self, you heighten all your other senses. This is calm alertness.

What to expect

A healthy body fosters a healthy mind. These simple, yet highly effective postures, promote increased cognitive function and improve memory. With a tai chi workout, your energy pathways are opened, your internal organs start to work harmoniously and your mind and body begin to perform

in unison.

These simple but effective practices aid in balance, may assist in the building of confidence, the balancing of emotions, increased energy and mental alertness. They foster a sense of belonging and vitality in a fun, informative setting.

Our brain is positively affected by the three components of Qi practice - mental focus, body
movement and breath. The mind focuses to help us with memory, literally creating new neural pathways in the brain. The body movements, coupled with deep breathing, help the energy flow through the body. This aids in the restoration of internal equilibrium, healthy organ function and increased energy.
